H&M Exclusive Line of Clogs

Retail roundup: H&M to sell exclusive line of clogs, Kardashian Silly Bandz, Ontario Mills adds Lacoste outlet
January 22, 2011 |  6:00 am

-- H&M is adding to its selection of cheap-chic apparel with a line of clogs. Yep, you read that right -- H&M says the wooden-soled shoes, made by "cult shoe label" Swedish Hasbeens, will be "one of this spring's must-haves" and will be available April 20 in 150 stores worldwide.

Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M's head of design, said the shoes -- H&M is releasing three styles priced from $59.95 to $69.95 -- "take something traditional and Swedish and make it contemporary and modern."

"These Hasbeens for H&M fit perfectly with the '70s bohemian look that's so important this coming season," she said.

-- They've already got reality TV shows, boutiques, multiple apparel lines, dietary supplements, a book and perfume deals, and now the Kardashians are moving into children's toy products.

Kim, Kourtney and Khloe have teamed up with Silly Bandz to release their own pack of the collectible rubber bands that are molded into various shapes. The Kardashians' Silly Bandz feature silhouettes of the individual girls as well as a stiletto heel, perfume bottle, kiss lips, sunglasses and other "glam" shapes.

-- Ontario Mills mall will be opening a Lacoste Outlet location this summer, joining a new Sports Authority store and "greatly expanded" Forever 21 and Burlington Coat Factory locations. The Lacoste store will feature 25% to 80% off the brand's regular prices, the mall said.

MY THOUGHTS

clogs are really hopt these days.  they give your legs a great look, you get more height but they won't kill your feet.

The Best Beautiful Shoes for Capri Pants

The Best Shoes for Capri Pants

By Desiree Stimpert, About.com Guide

While capri pants look great on some women, they often fall short on others. Body shape has a lot to do with how capri pants look, but another huge factor in wearing them successfully is pairing them with the right shoes.

Here are some of the best shoes to wear with capri pants, as well as a few of the worst options.

The Best Shoes for Capri Pants

•Ballerina Flats

Ballerina flats are the classic choice for pairing with capri pants -- and they're also my favorite option. Leather, satin, peep-toe, even sneakers can be had with ballerina/skimmer cut, and nearly any of them will work with capri pants because they're streamlined, fitted, and show a lot of the foot. This helps elongate the part of the leg that shows.

•Flat, Skimpy Thong Sandals

Skimpy, dainty, delicate flat sandals work well with capri pants for the same reason ballerina flats do: they show a lot of foot and elongate the legs. If you're going for a more dressy look, try embellished or metallic flat sandals, but if it's a carefree appearance you're after, anything from canvas to patent leather will do -- just remember to keep them light.

•Fitted Canvas Sneakers
In addition to low-cut, ballerina type sneakers, you can also pair capri pants with lace-up sneakers like classic Keds for a totally casual, beach-comber look.

Exercise Caution when Pairing the following Shoe Styles with Capris

•Wedges
A lot of women wear wedge shoes with capri pants, and though it occasionally works, I'm not a huge fan of the look for one simple reason: wedge heels are bulky. If I just can't pry the wedges out of your hands (or off of your feet), then at least look for styles that have very delicate uppers.

•Pumps
Pairing pumps with capri pants is another one of those "sometimes works" propositions, but for the most part, it creates a retro, "pin-up" vibe. If you've been trying to figure out how to cultivate that look, well, now you know -- but if you have no interest in looking like a Vargas girl, then you'll want to steer clear of wearing pumps with capri pants.

The Worst Shoes for Capri Pants

•Bulky Sneakers and Cross-Trainers
I see this look a lot at suburban shopping malls, and in a way I get it, it's all about comfort. But still, it's not a flattering look for anyone. If you love wearing capris and need to pair them with the most comfortable shoes you can find, try a pair of slim, canvas sneakers instead. If it's the cross-trainers you can't give up, try them with a pair of boot-cut yoga pants instead.

•Sandals with Heavy Straps
Whether they're flats or heels doesn't matter, sandals with really thick straps don't play well with capri pants; they're just too overwhelming for such a slim silhouette.

•Clogs
Try as a might, I just can't think of heavier-looking shoes than clogs -- which is fine if you're pairing them with jeans or pants. But whether they're rubber, wood or leather, they're way too bulky for capri pants.

MY THOUGHTS

i love capri pants. and i know for sure those bulky sneakers and clogs don't work.

The Best Shoe Fads Ever

The Best Shoe Fads Ever

Fab footwear that we can't get enough of -- past, present and future!

Boat Shoes

Although many prepsters will claim these flats never went out of style, we're glad boat shoes have made a comeback since their stint in the '90s. We might not be sailing, but these shoes are perfect for casual weekends out.

Jellies

The jelly shoes trend entered the style scene in the '80s. After a hiatus, they're back and cuter than ever!

Gladiators

We first laid our eyes on these trendy sandals a couple of summer seasons ago. At first, many of us were skeptical, but fashionistas and non-fashionistas alike have embraced them, and are wearing them with dresses, shorts and skirts in gold, brown and black tones.

Ballet Flats

Ever since we stepped into them, we were sold! We hope ballet flats are "in" forever because not only are they comfortable, they practically go with everything!

Uggs

They might not be the sleekest, chicest boots around, but what they lack in looks, they make up for in comfort. Even better, these sheepskin boots also keep our feet and shins warm in the winter.

Clogs

We loved clogs in the '90s, and wore them with everything from denim shorts to dressy trousers. They have recently made a comeback, and while some style fiends have yet to hop on board (us included!), we can't deny how pretty some of the new ones are to look at. They have come a long way!

Booties

Where would we be without our ankle booties? They're a great addition to any wardrobe -- doesn't matter the season. We love them so much, they've proven to be our go-to shoes for skinny denim and chic dresses.

Dr. Martens

We first wore "Docs" with our flannel shirts and ripped jeans in the '90s. This time around, we're wearing them with tights and fabulous skinny jeans. They've gone from grunge to chic!

Crocs

Sorry Crocs-wearers! They are kind of ugly. However, they've made our list because they are the most comfortable pair of shoes ever.

Minnetonkas

This Native American-esque comeback shoe is a godsend. Not only are Minnetonkas uber-comfy, they're also adorable to look at.

Oxfords

These style of lace-up flats are back after decades of hiatus. First made popular in Scotland and Ireland, oxfords have made it on many fashionistas' feet.

MY THOUGHTS

shoes - i just love this topic. i have to admit, i never bothered to get myself a pair of crocs. booties and uggs are just not for comfortable wear in temperate countries. i did buy a couple of ankle boots. not a good buy. just not for me.
